In 2005 my backpacking adventure began by flying to Finland and then overland to Russia before taking the Trans-Siberian and Trans-Mongolian train to China.

The first thing I asked myself when I arrived in India was 'why did I come here?' but I grew to love the country and it become the highlight of my backpacking trip in 2005.

​South Africa is where I was born and bred and I return at least three times a year for work. I have a passion for the country and love photographing the diverse landscapes.

I purchased an old Russian Minsk Motorbike in Hanoi and drove across the country and along the Ho Chi Minh trail. From there I travelled the Mekong into Cambodia.

While backpacking in 2005 I spent time in Australia, a continent of wide open spaces, kangaroos, beautiful beaches and of course Uluru Rock.
